Victor Villegas is a seasoned technologist and educator with over 30 years of experience empowering individuals and communities through the effective use of digital technology. As the Broadband and Digital Technologies Adoption Coordinator at Oregon State University, Victor plays a pivotal role in helping communities across Oregon access and adopt broadband and emerging technologies safely, equitably, and effectively—whether for education, telemedicine, workforce development, or economic growth.
Victor is a leading advocate for digital equity and literacy, and currently chairs the Oregon Broadband Equity Coalition (OBEC), a statewide alliance working to bridge the digital divide. His expertise spans a wide range of digital domains, including cybersecurity, digital media production, online communications, personal branding, and workforce training. Through his work, Victor brings technology within reach for underserved and underrepresented populations.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Victor is internationally known as DroneSinger, the “Weird Al” of drones and the world's foremost composer of drone-related parody songs. Under this creative persona, he conducts STEAM outreach for K–12 students using music, drones, robotics, AI, puppetry, poetry, and humor to inspire interest in technology and STEM careers. His unique, engaging approach to education makes science and technology more approachable, especially for youth from marginalized communities.
